This passage I chose to read the entire part before because it starts out “this is the reason I bow my knees before the Father…” Ummm what’s the reason? ?
Reason is: Paul as Saul (before his conversion – read it Acts 9:1-30 for the full) was a pretty terrible person, least of the saints (and self-named worst of sinners) but God still have grace and mercy on him.
So Paul knows what he deserves and why he deserves it, yet has been given grace and a ministry – He bows before the King because He is thankful.
For this same reason, we should also how our knees before the King. We deserved terrible deaths and yet we are extended the same grace and specific ministries despite this fact that we all suck on our own.
When you forget that you need a savior – you are in trouble. This isn’t a one and done deal – it’s an everyday thing! Remember – you need Jesus more than you need air. Breathe him unconsciously as you breathe in the air.
The last two verses are the ones I feel heavy in my spirit
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to HIM be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout so veneragions, forever and ever. Amen.”
God is more than anything we have ever encountered. More than we can even think because he gave us the ability to think and that means he has to be more than that. More than we can imagine. More than words can describe. Yet He desires us to think on Him. To build a relationship with Him. To encounter Him. To describe Him with our words.
He was he us to fall in love with Him. Human love can never compare with being in love with Jesus.
Beyond His greatness and being more than what we think and ask for, He is worthy of all glory. I’m in awe of how glorious Jesus is. He shines so brightly and when His glory rests like a blanket, you cannot stand or even comprehend what is going on because you are in the full presence of God and you are aware of it.
We are always in His presence but when you become aware of it – that is when you get shot faced in the carpet because we cannot stand and we become undone.
It doesn’t matter what has happened, what is happening, what might be about to happen – Jesus is glorious and worthy of praise. We can’t forget this either – He is WORTHY.
So I don’t care if your bills are coming up and the money isn’t in yet, praise Him.
I don’t care if someone looked at you funny, praise Him.
I don’t care if events are going according to your plan, praise Him.
I don’t care if young age everything you could ever want, praise Him.
He is WORTHY and GLORIOUS!
