Colossians 3:1-17

Today was the Monday of all Mondays. One where it needed to end at like 8:15 AM – yeah thank you Jesus this day is over. I know you made it and I rejoiced and am glad that it’s over. I didnt react well to the situations presented so it only made the day longer. Dealing with the consequences of my inappropriate reactions and then dealing with my inappropriate reactions – it wasn’t pretty.

But the Lord is gracious and He has given each of us the ability to “put on the new self that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of the creator”

We have the ability at any given point to bring our ridiculous flesh into alignment with how God thinks of us. That we can be renewed into the image He meant for us.

We are fresh in Jesus. Blameless in His sight. Renewed into His image.

That is us about us. Now what is for us to use for others – compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience…Forgiving each other…put on love which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

It isn’t up to another person to be kind or compassionate to someone – it is up to you. It is up to you to forgive those who have wronged you. You may think you’re getting the short end of the deal on forgiving those who wronged you, but you aren’t. You forgiving them means you continues to carry that sound around. They have to answer for their wrong against you – if they repent to you or answer at God’s feet. You have the easier road, as long as you forgive. It brings you leave that God intends to have rule in your hearts. To have it rule in my heart.

Jesus, we put away the sinful nature and we take up the new self that is renewed in your image so that we may show your love to others. We aim to be holy as you are holy, compassionate and kind to those in need, humble, meek, and patient with all around us. Let love bind us together to be a unified body of believers aiming to bring you glory and thanks in all that we do. We open our hearts to you and we welcome your peace to rule in our hearts.
