Lazarus, come forth!

I know. I’ve been there – you’ve tried everything. Even now whilst reading this, you have doubts as to if this will work. But I implore you to keep trying! God hasn’t left you to die in your faith; He hasn’t left you, period! “Welcome to the land of the living”  I don’t know what movie this is from, but it fits. Please, be welcomed back to life.

To bring to life again
What if your faith is dead? It’s not just without joy or merely sleeping – it’s dead. You’ve tried everything from worship services, attending revival services, ‘praying’ even though it doesn’t seem to work and it is still just dead. You still believe in God but he just hasn’t done anything for you recently and you think he has forgotten you – He hasn’t.
Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you not forsake you.”
John 11:11 “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”
John 11:14 “Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe. Nevertheless let us go to him.”
John 11:43-44 “Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.””
Luke 8:40-42, 49-56 The little girl was already dying when her father went to Jesus and she died while Jesus was on his way to her. Jesus knew what was really going on so he said “don’t be afraid, only believe and she will be made well.” He was even ridiculed for his proclamation of “Do not weep, she is not dead, but sleeping” But lo and behold Jesus was right – who would have thunk it. He tells her to arise, the spirit returned to her and she got up immediately.
When we call upon God to resurrect our dead faith he tells us “don’t be afraid, only believe” and he will restore His Spirit to us immediately. There is no-lag time if we ask him to wake up our dead faith and if we believe him to do just that.

So we are, hopefully, awakened in our faith in areas that were sleeping, without joy, dead, or all three. Next we will talk about since we are awakened to our own issues we then can be awakened to the issues surrounding us. After all we cannot take the speck out of someone else’s eye when we have a plank in our own. Matthew 7:1-5
